: POLL whos going to sell their Galaxy S?
soraxd 02-13-2011, 07:00 PM well its that time of the year again.. in a few hours all the new phones for 2011 will be revealed. if youre someone planning on upgrading, its possible youll be selling your galaxy s, especially if youre going to be getting a galaxy s2. i dont really feel any sentimental connection to mine, unlike my i8910.. especially when the s2 is going to look just like the first. so just wondering, whos going to be selling their galaxy s?
SomeOne 02-13-2011, 07:08 PM I never bought one, reason was it had no flash. Though if i did buy one when it came out then yeah.. i would sell it and buy the new one.
Note: I never buy phones that have been out for longer than 2months.. since the upgrades are normally within a year of eachother.
I think we're gonna see alot more out of the Galaxy S soon enough, just think how far its come since elcair, and it just gets better and better!!!!
Galaxy S2 may be more superior, but give it time and it will be a much better product when the modders get their hands on it, thats when i'll upgrade!!! :-P
Tufftoad 02-13-2011, 08:11 PM I want to keep it but I usually end up selling my phones.
andy-roid 02-13-2011, 08:15 PM keeping mine due to contract if i was going to sell and get a new phone it would be a htc or a lg never samsung again after a galaxy portal and a galaxy s
Doomed 02-13-2011, 08:23 PM Mite get a new phone in the summer, but dough I'll sell the SGS. Like most of my old phones I still have them, unless I need the money for a new one:)
soraxd 02-13-2011, 08:24 PM i dont get why everyone hates samsung support so much, there was a new firmware every few days or weeks, up until froyo..
Doomed 02-13-2011, 08:44 PM I prefer community support over manufacturer support as you usually get better quality from it:) Thats also one of the points I look at before I buy the phone, with the SGS, it was a bit of a gamble which has paid off:)
I don't think Samsungs support has been bad with this, there has been a number of firmwares that have been released, including there flashing software. Most of the problems is just to do with kies and many other phones have the same problems with their phone to PC software. One reason I never use it, when I can do thinks in a better way:)
Briggs 02-13-2011, 09:11 PM I might sell mine and put the cash towards the new Galaxy S2..still undecided between the new Galaxy S and the Optimus 2X which also looks good.
soraxd 02-14-2011, 12:02 AM s2 has 1gb ram

Thats exactly what i'm thinking about to.
Was originally sold on the LG, but after seeing the S 2 specs, now leaning that way.
Only reservation is gps, mine was fine until 2.2.1 - now it puts me in the next road.

SNAK3ATER 02-14-2011, 06:45 AM to be honest I'm usually not the type of guy who changes his phone every 6 months or so and the number of phones I have owned in my life can be counted on one hand because I don't know about you guys but I only change/upgrade my phone to newer model that does 2 things:1- brings a breakthrough innovation and technology with it 2-considered as the best or leading phone in it's category.
from this methodology my first phone was nokia 8800 (first phone to record sound files and have bluetooth which was a breakthrough at that time)
after 4 years I upgraded to nokia 6600 (first nokia phone to have a 3 megapixel camera and had the latest symbian os at that time)
after 4 years I upgraded to nokia N95 (best non-touch smartphone at that time)
after 4-5 years i upgraded to samsung omnia HD (first mobile with 720p HD camera and the best symbian s60v5 phone imo)
unfortunately after 6 months only I quickly upgraded to samsung galaxy s thus breaking my 4 years rule but it was worth it since SGS is one of the best single core phone available right now :)
and after 8 months of owning this great phone and after spending some time with the good members of this forum the main question is should I break my 4 years rule twice and change 3 phones in less than a year or should I wait for a super ultraAMOLED extreme 2GHz dou core samsung phone with 3D display and a 120GB hdd with a 4GB ram supported by a 2000maH battery that can cook too? hmmm...
I know for one that briggs will be buy the phone and although sora is moaning about this phone in every thread she'll be one of the early adopters :p i'll wait and see the community experience with the phone before giving my final judgement
soraxd 02-14-2011, 07:03 AM haha sn3ak youre coming with us [= . and quadcore is coming in the fall lol, 1.5ghz quadcore, but I doubt theyll put it into anything until mwc2012.. I think ill be buying the s2, but lets see what mwc has in store xd

I owned them too :)
Only reason I updated to SGS was because I got my mum an Android phone and needed to know how to solve problems on it:)
iv tried voting but just get a blank screen.any ideas why i cant vote?
Rallye James 02-14-2011, 08:22 PM I'll be keeping mine, since I only got it in November anyway! I usually keep it til the contract's nearly up then go in for a free early upgrade. So it's likely to be another 12 months and then I'll be expecting something more than the S2!
stonkr 02-20-2011, 07:06 PM Got mine in July. Does for me now I've flashed it to oblivion. I'll wait for July 2012 and get the new hologram screen, 27-core, 2 terabyte slightly laggy Galaxy S9. Thanks very much.
