Are you talking about these? I found this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=693064) but not sure if it works on MCR.

yes thats EXACTLY what im talking about, thats the animation i want. but his update.zip doesnt work on our phone, only because the directories are different. i saw someone who changed their boot animation to something with the world exploding, they posted a video on this forum but i cant find it anywhere, and i dont know how they did it. i found some tutorials, but if the location and set up of animations is different from phone to phone it makes it hard to figure out.

i did sucesfully manage to remove the shutdown animation of the phone, system/media/shutdown/video but i havent been able to replace it yet. i wish we could look at ROM files on the computer

ive been looking everywhere thru the system and i cant find boot animation, only shutdown. its in system/media/video/shutdown and then theres 60 different .PNG files it moves thru really fast to act like animation. if you delete them all you wont have any shutdown animation.

you can get rid of boot animation too, i just havent found where its located

download Root Explorer to search thru the system files

I think if you also change the boot animation in a update.zip yourself your still going too need it to be signed before the android recovery system will let you update the system with it.

Be careful when messing with boot animations and especially shutdown animations. They aren't just a series of .pngs, there is an associated xml control file too which includes an image playlist and timing info.

Darky's ROM allows you to change boot animations because it's designed that way, I wouldn't attempt to do it on a stock firmware, you are only asking for trouble.
