Got my car mount yesterday, tested it today and its not bad. Its a universal mount that holds the phone between two clamps with rubber pads. You can spin the phone 360 degrees. The good thing about it is its really small. Good for traveling.

The windscreen suction cup part has a clever twist mechanism to lock it in place. For the price its very decent and it also lets you film videos if you want as it doesn't block the camera at the back.

I will try and get some photos up of it soon.

The car mount i got is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/UNIVERSAL-CAR-MOUNT-HOLDER-SAMSUNG-i9000-GALAXY-S-/160454031690?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item255bce394a

All and all I waould say its perfect for the galaxy S and for those that want a stable car mount that doesn't jiggle about when the car is moving.

Look nice, I am looking for something like that too, more universal. The previous one I got was tailored for HTC Hero, which will not fit the Giant SGS :(

Thanks for this :) Looks good, cheap too. Might have to get one. If you've got your Galaxy in a case (Zenus on its way) will it still fit?

Same I had a i8910 holder that of course doesn't work with my i9000. So thats why I went universal this time round.

Yes it should still fit any case

The eBay link you provided is expired. Can you give me a few more details that I can use to search for this? I can't find anything that lookslike it on eBay. Thanks!

Do we know if the 'suction mount' adhesive or whatever the seller is reffering to is re-useable to de-mount from the dashboard after use?

Looks a good holder, just one question if you dont mind. I have a sat nav that i dont like sticking to my windscreen as i dont want anyone to see suction marks and know i have some toy worth stealing. I got round this by using a glass coaster for sitting a cup on. The sat nav holder was able to suction onto this and as it wasnt too long an arm on the holder it remains perfectly balanced sitting on my dashboard. I bought a roll of anti slip stuff from a pound shop and stuck a small bit to the back of the coaster to prevent it slipping around when turning. It actually looks and works great. Do you think the phone holder would stay balanced if stuck to something similar or would it lose its balance because of its centre of gravity. Thanks for your help.
