I recently rooted my phoned and then botched up the NAND thing. This was last night. Before then I used to get my email alerts through my Gmail app. When I got a new email it would vibrate and make the little sound saying I have an email. Now It doesn't

The nand thing I tried to do using the emulator app on the phone, only I made a mistake in one of the command lines and it never let me get back to fix it. Every app force closed then when I rebooted my phone it was like it was back to factory settings. Only all my apps and stuff stayed because I think of that titanium back up thing.

I have my internet on, my Gmail set to alert me and in my sync I have my Gmail set to auto sync. I have been testing it in work and sending myself emails but it is not alerting me and not auto downloading them. It is only when I phyiscally go in to the Gmail app and click refresh then an alert appears which is useless.

Any ideas how to fix this again? The we internet icon always sits on H now and before it never did that. When I click refresh on the Gmail app it would change to G or 3G or sometimes E and start to refresh.

go to gmail app, menu, settings, notification settings, uncheck email notifications, and vibrate, and ring tone youd like

Yeah i have done all that. The problem seems to be in the sync. When i go to the sync settings in the phone settings its set to auto sync, its also set to sync in the backround but its not doing it. When i check the gmail sync its last refresh was 07.:23 and thats only because i woke up and did it. Now its 11:26 and i manually refreshed the sync and hey presto, 5 new emails.

Anyone any ideas on how to fix this? Again it only happened directly after i rooted and botched the nand thing. I have since completed the nand thing successfully.

Got it fixed by resetting factory settings

Does resetting to factory settings undo the NAND update?
Have you noticed any difference in performance since?

Tbh i havent noticed. It could be because i lost all my apps when i did it and removed my sd card as it said would wipe it too. Is there any way of checking?
