Hi all,
New to the world of Android/ Galaxy and I'm having an issue installing my message alert.
If have followed the steps outlined on this site to change the message tone eg:

my files > media > audio > Notifications - and placed my new alert in the folder.

I can see my new alert when I go to setting and assign it as the message alert, it lets me change it, but when I recieve a SMS/MMS it still plays the default tone.

So..I installed handcent SMS - again went through the settings - assigned my own message alert. Now when I recieve a message it plays about 1sec of my alert then the samsung default blasts out over the top!!

I have tried everything I can find (restarting the phone didn't work either)

So anyone have any other ideas??

Turn it off and back on?
