First of all, calm down :)

When did you last notice it lost signal and didn't read your simcard? What have you done before that? Did you check your APN settings after you flashed your phone?

yes i did. and it shows an error, please insert simcard to access network settings... its acting like it does not have anysimcard inserted.

before i lost the signal, i just tried the download mode, since i was helping a friend on how to update his phone, then after i removed the batt, and turned on the phone, i never got any signal,

i tried my sim on a diff phone, and it was working, and i have tried diff sim on my phone but it was still not working, im really scared that my phone is broken...

Did you take out your simcard when to access the download mode last time? Also double check the sim card see if it is wrong way round. I did that so many times myself.

If above still not working, go to recovery mode, do factory reset and wipe cache partition, then flash the firmware and see if it works.

I don't think flashing to JPC will cause sim card stop working. If that is the case you can always try JPK, which is the current one I am using and it is absolutely fine.

Could it be when you pull out the sim card you have bend the metal which causing the contact point away from the simcard?

I think he means the sim card contacts on the phone - if you have a magnifying glass (or good eyesight) check the connectors around the sim card slot to ensure none of them have been damaged/moved. From what you have described it definitely sounds like it is the phone and not the sim card. As tiptronic suggests, if everything else appears OK it's worth flashing with JPK - follow these instructions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790686), which is exactly what I did, and see how you get on.

i took my phone to our samsung service center here in the phils, they tried everything that they can do, they reflashed my phone to the local stock FW, and even tried to re-assign the IMEI, but still did not work...

they said the only other option is to replace the phone, so they will and it will all be free, even after they learned that it was flashed.

just a warning to you guys, be careful in updating to the beta release of froyo, since thats the reason why my phone was broken... thanks for the help...

BTW, im going to get the new phone this saturday

This is the first time I heard about flashing will cause the sim not working, but thanks for letting us know, at least you now can have it replaced.

I think its not the sim, its the phone issue...

Hey, glad you got some sort of result - just a pity you have to wait a few days for your phone but I suppose that's a price worth paying if they're going to replace it for you "free of charge".

Come to think of it, i do recall someone having a T-Mobile Galaxy S phone which was unlocked and they flashed the firmware and stopped reading their SIM card which was with another network and would only read T-mobiles SIM cards from there.
