Hi - i am new to the forum, just registered today.

My mobile contract is up for renewal and I have the option of a Galaxy S or a HTC Desire - two very good units.

I currently have a Nokia Express Music 5700 which is a great phone about from one huge problem. If you want to use the phone outside, in direct sunlight, it is not possible to see the screen. Does the Galaxy S have the same problem ?

No, it doesn't. It fades in the direct sunlight, but still readable.

but on full brightness i guess? because mine is set to the minimum and can hardly see under direct sunlight

Well, you'd better set it to the maximum when viewing stuff under DIRECT sunlight. This is the case with Galaxy S. But it's way better that simple AMOLED, I know, I had i8910.

Galaxy is better in sun view, i hav turned on auto mode so no prob in dark or in sun its readable n 1more suggestion steve_ben galaxy gives a great video quality it AMOLED plays even normal videos with HD pleasure so if u want full entertainment galaxy roxx...
