Most reviews I have read for the Galaxy S praise the phone save the plasticky build of the battery cover.

I was wondering if anyone knows of an aluminium replacement to provide a sense of higher quality?

Prep'd it, used a specialised plastic paint with a suede look finish though the texture is more like a very fine soft sand and then baked it on. If it gets a scratch then I just give it another coat so easily kept looking fresh.

There are replaceable colour ones on ebay...or were available. Generally go around the £15 mark. I might have to see about spraying it.

Tehpriest - Are you using plastic or metal back covers? I'm taking for granted it's plastic and if so are you use a low level temperature?

Would like to try for myself in black, the texture and grip aspect of it sounds handy ;)

When I first saw those pictures I wondered why someone would use sandpaper for their back cover

This brings back the old days when I would take a phone apart and paint it, just for different looks:)

You can't buy, you have to make. Read the thread instead of blindly posting requests.

I don't think it's metal.
