First of little background information about myself..

Since I was a child I have taken apart and rebuild stuff, and not only to learn to rebuild them, but to really know how the work. The idea behind of the construction and why it is as it is..

same thing goes for the mobile phones,

not very surprising i am a iPhone ex user.. and i was very happy with it, but after a frequent year of extended use, i must say im done with that phone,

i have coded pretty much everything possible on the iPhone and is considered done..
if you are interested in that ask in a PM..

when i first decided to "switch" to android i thought it would be a visual experience none the like.. and very easy to use and customize.. o boy i was wrong.. LOL

what i heard about the android system before hand was that its completely customizable, (which it is) but i didnt think it would require so much coding experience as it is, dont worry i will learn it all... remember thats how i rule.

anyhow.. i have noticed a big difference in coding between the system, iPhone (which i thought was much more harder than android (due to apples strict "laws" LOL), to my surprise is very simple to make apps, widgets etc.. )

but im still a noob when it comes to android, but i'll really give it time and after owning the SGS for 3 weeks (now) my friends that have android devises is asking me for advice and help (which i think is pretty funny 'cause they have had their phones for much longer time)

my goals with the use and the membership here is, first to create apps, themes and widgets ( thats is of high quality and not as many apps etc i have seen on market that is really bad IMO, pathetic is an other word) ex. WTF is going on with the facebook app both the samsung and android version.. nothing compare to iPhone.

my knowledge is mainly HTML, HTML5 and some JS(not much but manageable) and of course image editing PS, Ai, InD .. so not much help with the coding for android applications and widgets.. which i will ask for some help.. hopefully thats why we are here to help and help each other..

Android is still in its infant stage, lets make the future right here and now..!

i use a Macbook Pro with eclipse Java EE IDE helios and android sdk (2.1 currently) installed and fully working with emulator and everything.. i have tested a simple image viewer application it installs successfully and working both on the device and emulator.. so it works..haha

my first question is how do you embed html code in and android xml (app/widget), such as a "mock" webpage inside an widget or and application.. ?

thats my intro..

regards!

Tja, Valle

First of all, I hope that nobody is offended by what I'm going to say!

I think that this site, SamsungGalaxySForums.Com is more user-oriented, rather than developer-oriented. I am sure some members here are into development, but for the most part people come here to get help with "simpler" stuff like flashing firmware and so on. I have seen very little developer talk around here and thus I don't think you'll be very successful with your queries regarding development on this site.

Again, I am not trying to insult anyone or anything like that. I'm just saying that I think this site is more user-help and user discussion, rather than development. You don't really see posts about people dissecting XML files here.

I think that you should hang around here, because this is a great forum with good discussion going on, but for your developer needs I really think you will enjoy xda-developers a lot more. That forum is too technical for me, and I don't post there because I don't have that much knowledge, and I don't do development other than dabbling around with theming and framework.

Here's the i9000 section @ XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=656

Like I said, hang out here too! But most of the developers are found at XDA, not here.
