Hey guys, just got my Galaxy S, not only my first Android but my first Samsung as well (I was a devoted high-end Nokia and BlackBerry user before).

The phone is running on VIP (Vodafone partner) in Croatia, on a EDGE network (3G is available only downtown in my area) and the specs are:

Firmware: 2.1-update1
I9000XXJM1
kernel: 2.6.29
root@SE-S603 #2
ELCLAIR.XFJM3

is that version up to date?

BTW, I use a Mac so I'm guessing that for every update I should connect it to a Windows PC or are they delivered OTA?

Welcome :) I not going to speak to you any more because you use a mac :D. For updates I think only windows will work:mad:

It's not the newest firmware available, but JM1 is not the oldest one either.
