Hello!

I have a 'Mini USB' in-car charging cable that came with my TomTom satnav, and I was wondering whether it would be safe to use with my SGS?

If anybody knows whether this would be a safe option, or can advise me on how I might find out whether this is a safe option then that would be great.

Thanks :)

No, you can't use Mini USB... You have to use Micro USB... ;) (hehehehe)

As long as it looks like this, you will probably be fine.

I have a Nokia car charger and a few generic Micro-USB cables and everything has worked well for me thus far.

Of course if you want to be overly cautious about it you'd never use something that doesn't have the Samsung logo on it, but I think you'll be fine. :)

to be boring and stick to question, Tom Tom's to my knowledge have a transformer in the socket which reduces output voltage to around 5V risk of screwing up batery or internal charging system I would say, and not worth the risks
