Hi, had my phone now for 10 days, few issues but this being the main one.

All my contacts are set, everything as it should be (no cross numbers etc)

However 3 times now, when receiving a text and opening the drop down box its shown incorrect info about were the message came from.

Example: Friday night, mrs at work, I get a txt from her, "Im at the city centre how long will you be?"
Me jumping up ringing her making all sorts of silly accusations, I double check the drop down box (as i hadn't cleared it) and it says it from her, however after clicking the message and going in to the SMS "area" it shows up as the messages is from my brother.

Easy fix? check first, but should this be happening? is it a known issue with android?

wow how horrible.. im STILL waiting for my phone to get here, but from using a G1 for a number of months, i can say ive never experience this problem, Samsung made some changes to the dropbox adding in their touchwiz 3.0, im guessing that would be the problem. assuming touchwiz is to blame, and youre looking for a right now fix, removing touchwiz would probably do the trick. i havent heard of anyone else having this problem tho, hope more ppl can give better feedback than me tho.

Is your phone rooted? I used to have that problem on my rooted Hero, but it is very random and only do that on certain numbers.

Its not rooted no, well i dont think lol, not even sure what it means tbh ....
Long time iphone fanboi, picked this over the ip4, I dont regret it for this reason alone (tho i did after the pasting i got from the mrs)

But its close, hope theres a fix in 2.2 :(
