hi,
i'm looking for a decent screen protector for the galaxy s and wonder if anyone has any recommendations. i bought one off amazon (protectionfilms24.com) but it's terrible: thin, scratches v easily and is very, very bubbly.
i've seen others but they're just vaguely screen-sized rectangles; i'm looking for one that covers the whole front of the device (with appropriate holes).
hopefully someone else has found something that i haven't!
thanks,
kira

I guess its early days yet, I decided not to use a screen protector on mine but a leather case instead. Screen protectors can reduce the sensitivity of the screen too.

yah, ordered the Zagg online and applied it last week. Have the front + back protectors. Some points:
- applying is tricky. must follow the instructions carefully! but Zagg provides free life-time warranty if you screw up the application anyway.
- front screen is 95% covered. Leaving gaps for the front-facing cam and the top-left sensors. there is also a slight gap around all four sides of the screen. can get pretty irritating when dust/dirt appear.
- improved grip and handling. this is by far the best feature of the Zagg. the phone will not slide around smooth surfaces anymore due to the rubberized nature of the film.
- touch-screen sensitivity is not affected (or at least not that I can notice).
Dont get those el-cheapo screen protectors which cover only the display area! I tried one and ripped it right off after half a day.

we moved from amoled to super amoled by removing a layer from the screen, and you just went and put it right back lol

i had seen the zagg ones. would you say they're worth the money?
i've got mine in a leather case, but the screen just gets covered in fingerprints. and i am worried that i'll be dumb and somehow scratch the thing while i'm using it (and therefore not in its case), hence my search for screen protectors.
how scratch-resistant is the screen, do we know?
i kinda like that it slides around, although i can see how this could be dangerous. :-)
thanks again,
kira

Yeah need a gel case for it, it is surprisingly slippery on the back.... I have a matte finish screen protector, bought from a local cart of cell phone accessories (singapore), they put it on, and thus no worries about doing it right. Problem is though, it definitely lowers the clarity of the screen.... I wonder if anyone will take a knife to the screen like they do w/ other phones to test their durability.

I purchased a full Zagg skin for my HTC Hero a few months back and found the application tricky and managed to trap some dust under the screen bit despite spending ages to get it right. When I tried to claim on warranty thing they said it does not normally cover user application issues. The support rep did offer to provide a replacement as a courtesy but the hassle involved was too much - pay for one up front, send old one back at your own expense to USA etc... too much hassle.
For my Galaxy S I just bought a Vikuiti™ DQC-160 Screen Protector from Ebay. Seems pretty good so far.

I gave in and tried a screen protector yesterday and today its off. Had dust under it and did like the feel of it. My finger couldn't slide along the screen as well. It seemed to stick more. On the good side was less finger prints.
