There are several threads at XDA-Developers discussing the lag being fixed officially on the T-Mobile USA variant of the Galaxy S from Samsung. Some are reporting they have flashed their worldwide Galaxy S with the JH2 Vibrant firmware and it has worked fine (lag has gone too). Has anyone here tried this and were they happy with the result? Apparently a worldwide firmware to be released inside a week anyway but just wondered. :)
Edit: Sorry, It's not for the T-Mobile Vibrant, it's for the Canadian Bell I9000M variant which is supposedly the same as the rest of the world except for the different 3G Data frequency (850Mhz instead of 900)

What, a worldwide release of JH2? For all Galaxy S, or just varients?

Yeah apparently for the International version Galaxy S, we should see JH2 soon. It's still Eclair (not Froyo) but it's supposed to fix lag and GPS issues (and the Canadians have given it plenty of positive feedback) so I'd be happy with that until Froyo if it came out soon.

I just updated my firmware to the JH2 here in Canada, though it deleted all my applications and reset all my settings.. wasn't ready for that :(
I'll update on how well it's working sometime soon.

I just downloaded the firmware, copied it to my firmware directory but I just couldn't bring myself to click the button. I have read about several people that have bricked their Galaxy by using a Captivate firmware. I was just too chicken in the end to give it a go. Decided to give Pauls Pre-rooted JP3 a go and see how that goes (expecting it to be buggy)

It's not a Captivate firmware. It's for the Canadian I9000M

Yes I know that but I chickened out because of that experience that several people have reported. I decided to just stick with the firmware for standard international I9000. And I'm glad I did because I really like JP3 with Adobe Flash Player Installed. I can finally visit pretty much any website without any problems. Hooray for Froyo!!!

Ok, I grew a pair and clicked the mouse to install this firmware. I was on JP3 though and the firmware for JH2 only had the PDA portion in the download. I didn't feel it was a good idea to leave Phone and CSC on JP3 so I put them back to JM1. It really didn't like that (error in CSC on first boot) but the phone works fine and Marketplace works too so I'm just running with it at this stage - so far so good.

I was a nice firmware but I couldn't root it with any known rooting methods I had so downloading JM6 now :-)

I really like it, I have had absolutely no problems with this firmware.. It works wonderfully. I haven't had problems with lag since I updated, and I was before.

Flashed JH2 and phone wouldn't recognise sim. Also couldn't sign in to google account.
